At the 4th Council for the Promotion of a Digital Society Executive Board Meeting held on Monday, August 1, 2022, the "Future of a Digitally Enabled Transportation Society 2022" was decided.
In Japan, which is in a declining population phase, the Issue related to the movement of each citizen is diversifying. In addition, new mobility services using digital technology are spreading, such as the development of MaaS and on-demand transportation, and the emergence of new transportation methods such as drones and automatic delivery robots.
In light of this social situation, we have formulated the "Future of Transport Society Using Digital 2022" from the perspective of how to envision the future of a transport society using digital technology, while continuing to develop the "automated driving", which is the government-wide strategy for ITS and Public-Private ITS Concept and Roadmap.
In order to "promote the advancement of digital society" as set forth in "Priority plan for the Realization of mobility" (Cabinet decision on June 7, 2022), the public and private sectors will cooperate to develop the necessary technology development, transportation infrastructure, and institutional development.
The documents decided this time are as follows.
