Private sector (Cloudship Co., Ltd.) was approved by the competent minister for the use of Japanese Public Key Infrastructure

On November 19, 2024, based on the provisions of Article 17, Paragraph 1, Item 6 of the Act on Certification Business of Japan Agency for Local Authority Information Systems Concerning Electronic Signatures, etc. (Act No. 153 of 2002), the competent minister certified CloudShip Co., Ltd. as a business operator that meets certain standards necessary for using Japanese Public Key Infrastructure.
About Japanese Public Key Infrastructure
Japanese Public Key Infrastructure is a public service that uses electronic certification stored in My Number Card to ensure the prevention of impersonation, falsification, and denial of transmission, and enables identity verification and online application on the Internet.
Approval of private sector by the competent minister
Private sector can also be used by those who have been certified by the competent minister as meeting certain standards for system security, etc. As of November 19, 2024, 626 companies in private sector have introduced Japanese Public Key Infrastructure, of which 21 are platform operators certified by the competent minister.

In addition, in order to promote the expansion of the use of Japanese Public Key Infrastructure, we have established a "Platform Business Operator" scheme as a mechanism that allows private sector to use it cheaply and easily.

In order to achieve smooth identity verification in non-face-to-face transactions using Public Personal Authentication, CrowdShip, Inc. plans to provide services such as incorporating identity verification functions into smartphone applications and providing identity verification functions through CrowdShip applications. In addition to providing identity verification functions, CrowdShip, Inc. will support integration into existing business and review of related processes.
