On May 30, Digital Agency held an event to start recruiting digital promotion committee members in order to realize "A digital society where no one left behind" by starting to recruit "digital promotion committee members" who are closely related to area.
The Digital Promotion Committee is an initiative to create environments in which society as a whole can enjoy the convenience of digital society without leaving anyone behind by providing detailed support to people who are unfamiliar with digital devices and services.
In order to deepen understanding of these efforts and make them a national movement, we will promote them as a cross-sectional Digital Promotion Committee member in cooperation with projects implemented by the relevant ministries and agencies and organizations.
After the event, we also released a summary page (Digital Agency Digital Promotion Committee's Initiative Efforts of the Digital Promotion Committee website to provide information. At the same time, we started accepting applications from organizations and others. In the future, we plan to start general acceptance as soon as the application acceptance system is ready.
At this event, three people were appointed as Digital Promotion Committee Ambassadors. They are Masako Wakamiya (IT evangelist / Director of Broadband School, NPO), Takeshi Maki (representative of Maki IT Research Institute), and Chieko Asakawa (director of National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation), who are actively engaged in activities to realize digital society on a daily basis, such as activities to connect people using digital technology and cutting-edge research related to accessibility.
In the future, we plan to ask the ambassadors to cooperate in disseminating and disseminating the information through their activities.
Mr. Wakamiya and Mr. Maki, who attended the event, expressed their aspirations as follows.
Ms. Masako Wakamiya
"I have been appointed as a Digital Promotion Committee Ambassador, and with a sense of restraint, I would like to do my best even more than before. If you look at so-called IT advanced countries, there are many volunteers. I hope more and more volunteers will come out. Together with the members of the Digital Promotion Committee who will be appointed in the future, I would like to work together to promote" a human-friendly digital reform where no one is left behind. ""Mr. Takeshi Maki
"When I retired from my full-time job, I thought about how I would live in the aging society of the future. I thought,' Digital is absolutely necessary, and I think that senior people will also have a new purpose in life by using it.' So, I entered the world of digital to try to practice it by myself first. And especially with the opportunity of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am convinced of the usefulness and necessity of digital. With such a big role to play, I would like to take a senior's point of view, based on my own experience, and aim at people who are particularly vulnerable to digital, so that digital will take root in senior society as much as possible."
In addition, although you were absent from the event due to your convenience, Mr. Asakawa sent the following comment.
- Ms. Chieko Asakawa
"We would like to contribute to the realization of a society in which' no one is left behind' through science and technology. With the progress and spread of digital technology, it has become common to use digital devices and services in various scenes of daily life. On the other hand, it is true that there are people who are unfamiliar with digital technology. The Digital Promotion Committee promotes activities to support those who are unfamiliar with digital technology. I feel that creating an environment in which people are connected to each other in a real way and all generations from young to old can support each other is an important initiative to embody Digital Agency's mission of' a human-friendly digitalization in which no one is left behind.' I would like to support the spread of the Digital Promotion Committee."
In response to this, Minister Makishima addressed the three Ambasatars to:
"Measures against the digital divide must be kept in mind in' a human-friendly digitalization where no one is left behind.' I am very much looking forward to the progress of various programs based on the wisdom of the ambassadors. Through this national movement called the Digital Promotion Committee, I will do my best to be able to quickly build the society we aim for."
I conveyed the message.
Digital Agency will promote initiatives, including the Digital Promotion Committee, with the cooperation of many stakeholders, toward realizing a "human-friendly digitalization where no one is left behind."
