On March 7, 2023 (2023), the Cabinet approved the "Bill to Partially Amend the Basic Act on digital society Formation to Promote regulatory reform for the Formation of digital society".
Based on the "Plan for Comprehensive Review of regulation in Light of Digital Principles" (decided by Digital Extraordinary Administrative Advisory Committee in June 2022), this bill amends (I) the Basic Act on regulation Formation, (ii) the Digital Procedure Act (Act on Promotion of Public Administration Using Information and Communications Technology), and (iii) the individual laws that specify digital society in order to promote a review of regulations on paper and in-person processes for the effective use of digital technology based on the progress of digital technology.
