Further Notice on the Case in which Account Information with a Misregistration of public fund receiving account was Available for Inspection
- Published:
Outline (Causes and Responses)
As part of the support for Individual Number Card Point application procedures in each local government, we also asked for cooperation in Registration of public money receiving account.
When the Mynaportal was operated on the shared terminal of this support window, the person who operated first was not able to log out, and as a result, there was an incident in which the deposit account of the person who was registered on the same terminal after the account operation of the person who operated first was mistakenly registered.
In this case, the account information (name in kana, name of bank, name of branch office, account type, and account number) of the person who registered later in Mynaportal from the account of the person who registered first was available for viewing.
As a result of the full investigation of existing registered account information in Digital Agency, since June 8, 2023, we have taken measures to suspend the viewing of account information in Mynaportal (Note) for accounts with a high possibility of misregistration. At present, the misregistered account information can no longer be viewed from the accounts with misregistration. In addition, we have not confirmed the occurrence of damage such as the unauthorized use of misregistered account information.
(Note) Although it is not a misregistration, if you think that you are registering an account of your family instead of yourself, we do not suspend access in Mynaportal, but please change the account to the name of yourself.
Contact the applicable person
At this time, the misregistered account information is no longer available for viewing from the misregistered account. However, there was a possibility that the misregistered account information could be viewed from the misregistered account until the viewing suspension measures were taken.
In addition, in local government, where the misregistration of public fund receiving account was confirmed, the registered account has already been corrected, and local government has already explained to the relevant person whose contact information is known that the misregistered account information could be viewed from the misregistered account.

In addition, in Digital Agency, we individually notify those who know the contact information of the person that the misregistered account information could have been viewed from the misregistered account, but we cannot notify those who do not know the contact information. Therefore, if you have any concerns, please contact My Number General Toll-free Number (0120-95-0178). (When making an inquiry, please follow the voice guidance and proceed to "6".)
Recurrence Prevention Measures
For accounts with a high possibility of misregistration, we have already taken measures to stop viewing account information in Mynaportal. In addition, in order to prevent misregistration and leakage of account information due to misregistration in the future, we have already added a function to confirm that the person to be registered has not changed in the course of account registration by re-reading My Number Card at the time of completion of account registration in addition to the start of account registration, and to prevent misregistration due to forgetting to log out.
We will make sincere efforts to prevent a recurrence and continue to make efforts to secure trust so that people can conduct Registration of public money receiving account operations with peace of mind.
*In accordance with the provisions of Article 68, Paragraph 2 of the personal data Protection Act (Act No. 57 of 2003), this notice is to inform you that the misregistered account information may have been viewed by another person.
