The results of the first Japan-UK Digital Group Meeting were released.

Digital Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and METI, together with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & amp; Sport of the United Kingdom, held a Japan-UK Digital Group Meeting on Thursday, October 6.
This meeting is a director-general level meeting based on a cooperation framework covering common priorities in the digital field between Japan and the United Kingdom, which was launched by an agreement between the relevant ministries and agencies of Japan and the United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. It is held once a year, and this was the first meeting to be held.
Based on the results of this meeting, we will continue to make efforts to further deepen and realize cooperation.
Main outcomes of the meeting
At this meeting, we held a dialogue on the following matters regarding cooperation in the digital field between Japan and the United Kingdom.
1. Cooperation in multilateral meetings
Regarding the areas in which Japan and the United Kingdom will cooperate in multilateral meetings, we confirmed the direction that the two countries will aim for and the specific ways of cooperation.
2. Data
The Japanese side explained its efforts to realize DFFT (Data Free Flow with Trust), comprehensive data strategies, and data ecosystems such as data management. The UK side explained that the two countries would like to continue to cooperate on initiatives related to data integration, privacy protection enhancement technologies, and DFFT. The two sides shared the view that they would continue to cooperate on DFFT from various perspectives.
3. Telecommunications Supplier Diversification
In order to further strengthen cooperation between Japan and the United Kingdom on the promotion of Open RAN, we confirmed the specific method of advancing research development on advanced technologies for Open RAN.
4. cybersecurity
The Japanese side explained the Cyber-Physical Measures Framework (CPSF) formulated by Japan and the international standardization of the framework. The British side confirmed the cooperative relationship between Japan and the United Kingdom to date and explained that it would like to continue to promote cooperation.
5. Semiconductors
The Japanese side explained Japan's semiconductor strategy, and the UK side also explained the UK's semiconductor strategy and that they would like to continue dialogue in the future. Both sides shared their approaches to the semiconductor industry.
In addition, with the aim of further strengthening cooperation, Japan and the United Kingdom agreed on priority areas to be addressed in the future.
