On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Digital Agency made a preliminary request for cooperation to youth economic organizations on digital promotion committee members.
At a press conference held on December 21, 2021, Prime Minister Kishida stated, "We will aim to realize a society in which no one is left behind and all people can enjoy the benefits of digitalization. In order to support the elderly and those who are unfamiliar with digital technology, we will deploy more than 10,000 Digital Promotion Committee members throughout Japan."
In order to realize a "human-friendly Digital Agency where no one is left behind" where everyone can enjoy the benefits of digitalization, digitalization will recruit, appoint, and deploy Digital Promotion Committee members as an initiative to comprehensively promote the improvement of the digital literacy of the people, including detailed support for people who are unfamiliar with digital devices and services.
The Digital Promotion Committee aims to serve as the foundation for a wide range of national movements by comprehensively promoting other initiatives as a cross-sectional Digital Promotion Committee, including cooperation with related projects implemented by the relevant ministries and agencies and organizations.
At first, we plan to appoint and deploy more than 10,000 people, and we will further expand it. In order to gradually expand it in cooperation with related efforts, we asked representatives of three related organizations, (1) Junior Chamber of Japan, (2) National Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry, and (3) National Small and Medium Business Youth Central Association, who had a track record of activities such as the revitalization of area communities and were able to participate on the day, to gather and raise their hands in advance on the day.
Mr. Makishima requested the following cooperation from the representatives of the three organizations.
"I appreciate your support for the realization of' A digital society where no one left behind' and the need to eliminate the digital divide.
With your cooperation, we will be able to create a society that can respond to the wishes of new smartphone users and people who want to feel a little closer to digital. I think this kind of environment can be realized not only by Digital Agency and the government, but also by private sector and area.
Today, I would like to ask you to invite people from each organization to join the Digital Promotion Committee. Thank you for your cooperation. "
We received the following responses from the three organizations concerned.
Junior Chamber of Japan
"I thought digital was high-tech, but I realized that there are digitalization where small things can be done, and I would like to promote digitalization fully as organization."National Small and Medium Enterprise Youth Central Association
"Since last fiscal year, we have been considering digitalization and DX, and we would like to cooperate with them."National Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry

In the future, when we promote area further, we will develop it for our generation, future children, and Kyoto."
In response to the requests for cooperation from the three organizations, Minister Makishima said, "I would be very encouraged if all of the three organizations could move forward in the same direction together as members of the Digital Promotion Committee. In order to ensure that no one is left behind in every corner of Japan, your cooperation is more than anything else essential. I would like to express my gratitude for your support."
Digital Agency will steadily advance related measures, including efforts related to the Digital Promotion Committee, in order to realize a "human-friendly digitalization where no one is left behind."
