On March 24, 2023, pursuant to the provisions of Article 17, Paragraph 1, Item 6 of the Act on Certification Business of the local governments Information System for Electronic Signatures, etc. (Act No. 153 of 2002), the competent minister approved Pocket Sign Co., Ltd. as a business operator that meets certain standards necessary for using Japanese Public Key Infrastructure (JPKI).
About Japanese Public Key Infrastructure (JPKI)
Japanese Public Key Infrastructure (JPKI) is a public service that uses E-Certificate stored in My Number Card to ensure the prevention of spoofing, falsification, and denial of transmission, and enables identity verification and online application on the Internet.
Approval of private business by the competent minister
Private business can also be used by those who have been certified by the competent minister as meeting certain standards for security, etc. of the system. To date, 15 companies have been certified by the competent minister.
In addition, in order to promote the expansion of the use of Japanese Public Key Infrastructure (JPKI), we have established a "Platform Business Operator" scheme as a mechanism that allows private business to use it cheaply and easily.
Details of services provided by Pocket Sign Co., Ltd.
As a platform operator, Pocket Sign Co., Ltd. plans to provide a service that enables identity verification, etc. at the time of account opening procedures at financial institutions using a Public Personal Authentication.
In addition, we plan to provide various services such as disaster risk management and evacuation support using a digital identification card of our development issued by a Public Personal Authentication.
