Results of the Japan-ASEAN Minister for Digital Transformation Meeting

Summary of the meeting

The ASEAN-Japan Digital Work Plan 2025 was adopted at the Japan-ASEAN Minister for Digital Transformation Meeting. The Digital Agency Meeting endorsed the Japan-ASEAN Data Governance Work Package, a proposal for cooperation in the field of data governance for the promotion of a digital society and the construction of a robust and mutually complementary digital supply chain. The proposal will contribute to the establishment of a partnership in the digital field between Japan and ASEAN, including the DFFT, for the realization of a society in which data is distributed safely and smoothly between Japan and ASEAN, and in which data is utilized to the fullest extent. Japan will continue to promote cooperation in the fields of data governance and DFFT between Japan and ASEAN, and aim for co-prosperity development of the two countries while making the most of the capabilities of data, which is the foundation of a digital society.

At the ASEAN Minister for Digital Transformation Meeting, Prime Minister Abe exchanged views with H. E.
