Mr. Fumiaki Kobayashi, Senior Vice-Minister for Digital and Senior Vice-Minister for Cabinet Office Affairs, who serves as the Secretary-General of the Digital Ad Hoc Committee, expressed his thoughts after the end of this Working Group as follows.
"In promoting a cross-sectional review of digital society toward the realization of regulation, I think there are two points. The first is whether it is possible to substitute analog regulation by utilizing current technology, and the second is how to certify the substitutable technology and make implementation possible. At this working group meeting, the approach to social implementation of new technology, which is a preliminary initiative by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, was very helpful. In addition, the advanced technologies of private sector companies, such as lasers, image analysis, and AI diagnosis, have advanced greatly, and I felt the possibility of advanced technologies to substitute analog regulation. I can expect that these initiatives and technologies will create new Japanese growth industries, and it was a very meaningful meeting."
