On June 2, 2024, we held a My Number Insurance Card Experience Event at Fashion Cruise Newport Hitachinaka, a commercial facility in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki.
The Maina Health Insurance Card Experience Event is an initiative to help people use their Maina Health Insurance Cards in medical institutions with peace of mind by using a demonstration machine of the My Number Card reader (card reader with face authentication) actually installed in medical institutions to experience the operation of the screen related to the confirmation of identity by face authentication and the consent to provide information.
The citizens who actually experienced it said, "I've never had a chance to touch a card reader before, so I'm glad I did." and "I'm glad to know that if it's a card reader from medical institutions, you can register to use the insurance card from My Number Card." In addition, there were many people who already use My Number Card instead of paper insurance cards in medical institutions and other places.
Hands-On inspection by Senior Vice-Minister
Senior Vice-Minister for Digital ISHIKAWA visited the Fashion Cruise Newport Hitachinaka and, together with visitors and people from area, operated the card reader using their own My Number Card and experienced identity verification using facial recognition.
After the experience, in response to an interview from a reporter, he said, "I would like to steadily increase the usage rate of my National Health Insurance card through experience events."
