We held a Maina Insurance Card Experience Event in public office, Chigasaki City.

On August 9, 2023, the "Maina Health Insurance Card Experience Event" was held in public office, Chigasaki City, Digital Agency, for the first time as a public office of the city, in which people can experience the use of My Number Card as a health insurance card hosted by Kanagawa.

With the support of the Digital Promotion Committee, this experience is an initiative to allow people to use their My-Number Card at medical institutions with peace of mind by using a card reader that is equivalent to the one actually installed at My Number Card to confirm their identity and agree to provide information by facial recognition using the health insurance card of medical institutions (My-Number Card).

Hands-on inspection by a Minister Kono

Minister for Digital Transformation Kono observed the My Number Insurance Card Experience Event held in public office, Chigasaki City. He used his own My Number Card to operate the card reader and experience identity verification by face authentication.

After the experience, in response to an interview from a reporter, he said that when using a My Number Card in a hospital, some people get nervous and use a conventional health insurance card for the first time. Therefore, with the support of the Digital Promotion Committee, I think it is very important for people to experience facial recognition and consent to provide information with a My-Number Insurance Card and to feel that it is easy to use. He said that he would like to increase such situations in the future.
