We will release the Digital Marketplace (DMP) official catalog site on October 31, 2024. (It will be available in the afternoon of Thursday, October 31, 2024.)
Digital Marketplace (hereinafter referred to as DMP) is a new procurement method aimed at accelerating the procurement of public authorities's cloud software (SaaS) and diversifying the procurement destination by the entry of various vendors.
Digital Agency released the DMP testing version (α version) catalog site in fiscal year 2023, and has been demonstrating it. We will release the DMP official version catalog site on October 31, 2024.
This time, we will release a function to register software and sales services (services necessary for the introduction and operation of software) of software companies and sales companies. (Search functions and functions related to selection by public authorities, etc. are scheduled to be released no earlier than January next year (twenty twenty-five). The release schedule of this function will be announced later.)
1. About the DMP Official Catalog Site
On the DMP Official Catalog site, you can register software and sales services by business operators. government officials can search for software you want to procurement using DMP, and you can output the results of the search as a trail at the time of procurement.
2. Background and history of the consideration of DMP
In Digital Agency, we aim to create an environment for the provision of user-centered services and the introduction of new technologies by public authorities and local government. To this end, it is important to review the public procurement process and eliminate the information asymmetry in the procurement market, and to build a mechanism for procurement in which public authorities and local government can more quickly procurement software and sales services and various service providers can enter.
From this perspective, Digital Agency considered the introduction of DMP. In 2022, we held a Open Task Force with public authorities, IT vendors, experts, and others to discuss how DMP should be in Digital Agency. The recommendations based on the discussions were reported to the Digital Agency Information Systems procurement Reform Study Group hosted by testing, and on March 10, 2023, we compiled a final report along with the direction of future discussions on DMP. Based on these, in fiscal 2023, we constructed a DMP Tokyo version (alpha version) catalog site as a demonstration and prepared for the official release.
3. How DMPs Work and Their Expected Effects
Business operators can participate in Digital Agency using DMP by registering software and sales services provided based on a basic contract with procurement in advance on the DMP catalog site.
Public authorities and employees search and narrow down the software and sales services registered on the DMP catalog site according to the content they want to procurement, and aim to be able to conclude individual contracts based on the results.
