In Digital Agency, autonomous mobile robots (automated driving vehicles, drones, and automatic delivery robots) will be utilized, and efforts will be started to realize a future image that will lead to the solution of social Issue and the development of industry, and to draw a mechanism (architecture) for the cooperation of multiple related information processing systems in which different people operate and manage the operation of autonomous mobile robots.

Background and Objectives

In the "mobility for the Realization of digital society" approved by the Cabinet on Friday, June 18, 2021 (2021), the Priority plan field is designated as one of the private sector fields that are closely related to people's lives, are highly expected by the people, and have large ripple effects on other semi-public sector fields due to the involvement of the national government (budget measures, etc.). This initiative is part of this.

In addition, at the first Council for the Promotion of a Digital Society held on Monday, September 6, 2021 (2021), the field of digital reform was mentioned as "main items in mobility at present."

In response to the above, based on the Act on Promotion of Information Processing (nineteen seventy Act No. 90), Digital Agency has asked the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) to specify a future image in which autonomous mobile robots will be used and will lead to the resolution of social Issue and the development of industry, and to draw a mechanism (architecture) for the cooperation of multiple related information processing systems in which different persons operate and manage the operation of autonomous mobile robots.

Overview

In response to a request from Digital Agency, IPA will hold the "Autonomous Mobile Robot Future Vision Review Meeting" at the Digital Architecture and Design Center (DADC), which is composed of a group of experts who bridge the public and private sectors, with the support of related ministries and agencies. The first Review Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 (2021) from 3:00 p.m.

Details of measures

In order to enable advanced operations such as real-time understanding of operating environments and route determination by automated driving vehicles, drones, etc., a platform for distributing real-time information such as 3 d geospatial information, weather conditions, and traffic conditions in a machine-readable form is required. Therefore, we will consider the development of a "3 d space ID" that uniquely specifies position information in real space based on a unified standard, and promote diverse data connections in real space.
