Confirmation of Qualification (Method of Medical Examination Other than Minor Insurance Card)
From December 2, 2024, the current health insurance card will no longer be issued, and when receiving medical care at medical institutions, etc., the system will be changed to use the My Number Card as a health insurance card (hereinafter referred to as the "Minor Health Insurance Card"). Basically, the confirmation of eligibility for health insurance for citizens will be done online by the My Number Card.
On the other hand, for those who have not obtained a My Number Card or have not yet registered to use a My Number Card as a health insurance card, a "Eligibility Confirmation Letter" will be provided free of charge by the medical insurer you are enrolled in (such as your workplace or local government) so that you can confirm your insurance eligibility regardless of the My Number Card. The issue will be free of charge.
In addition to this, those who have difficulty using their own Maina Health Insurance Card (elderly people, persons with disabilities, etc.) will be able to apply for a "Certificate of Eligibility" upon issue.
By presenting this "Eligibility Confirmation Form" to a medical institution, etc., you can receive insured medical treatment at your own expense ratio (30%, etc.) as before.
