1. PMH Initiatives

In areas such as medical care subsidies, maternal and child health, vaccinations, and long-term care insurance, for which local governments are the main implementers, there is a heavy burden on the people, local governments, medical institutions, and pharmacies to coordinate information on paper, and improvements are needed.
In order to solve this problem, the Progress Schedule for the Promotion of Medical DX (published in Cabinet Secretariat) (PDF / 454 kb) , which was decided on June 2, 2023 (2023), states, "We will develop an information coordination mechanism that enables the safe exchange of necessary information between related organizations and administrative agencies, and share information related to long-term care insurance, vaccinations, maternal and child health, publicly funded health care, and local independent medical care subsidies, in conjunction with efforts to standardize local government systems."
In fiscal 2023 (fiscal 2023), Digital Agency developed a system (Public Medical Hub: PMH) with an information coordination function as a mechanism for this information coordination, and started advance implementation projects for local governments in the fields of medical care subsidies, vaccinations, and maternal and child health.

PMH Benefits

  • Medical care subsidies
    • My Number Card (Maina Health Insurance Card) can be used as a claimant certificate for medical care subsidies when visiting medical institutions and pharmacies.
  • Immunization and maternal and child health
    • The My Number Card can be used as a vaccination ticket or consultation ticket by entering a prevaccination screening questionnaire or medical interview sheet in advance on a smartphone, etc.
    • The Mynaportal will recommend vaccinations and medical examinations to prevent people from forgetting vaccinations and medical examinations, and the vaccination history and medical examination results will be available on the Mynaportal in real time.

In the future, we will expand functions to increase the number of systems and use cases for information coordination in PMH, and promote initiatives to expand the target municipalities, medical institutions, and pharmacies.
